Wash Up & Brush Co. is an eclectic gift, accessory and jewellery boutique located on Danforth Ave. in Toronto’s Riverdale neighbourhood.

Wash Up & Brush Co. originally opened on Danforth Ave. in 2003 as a hair salon with a front end gift shop. As the store grew more and more popular it became necessary to expand the shop into the salon space and discontinue salon services.

The unusual name of the business was derived from the classic movie The Wizard of Oz. If you pay close attention to the scene just after Dorothy et al arrive at the Emerald City you will notice that they are taken (by the horse of a different colour) to be primped and polished at the “Wash & Brush Up Co.” We just switched the words around slightly (we think it flows better that way!) But whether you can remember the strange name or not you will definitely remember the colourful shop, the friendly staff, the great music playing and the incredibly fun and diverse product selection.

Wash Up & Brush Co. is the kind of place that customers like to visit often to see what new fabulous merchandise is currently in store. Stock moves fast and new product lines are constantly being added. Shop owner Susan Drysdale spends countless hours searching for humourous, unusual and beautiful products from all over the world.
